Anecdotes of my passing...

I've always been a fan of old-school cartoons. When I was a kid, I would always be in front of the telly whenever there is a cartoon running. I can remember the theme songs, the characters, ... all the useless trivia that was tied with them. In retrospect, I can say that although some of the cartoons may seem lame and childish and even low-tech compared to the magnificent technology of today, I would still take old-school anytime.

The recent deluge of fugly and annoying cartoons like shaolin dragon, and eek seemed to have signal the reversion of cartoons to an era of simplicity. Having said that, I'm still a fan of modern cartoons like Kim Possible, Spiderman (the new one) and simply quite so many more. The new Disney cartoons such as Mulan, Hercules and Tarzan are simply rubbish compared to their earlier masterpieces such as Beauty and the Beast, Lion King, Aladdin. Their short-skit cartoons featuring Mickey, Donald et al now incorporate too much computer-generated effects and animation that there is simply no soul to the cartoon anymore. I so much prefer the old-school brush, paint style where the background is really painted with hand.

Despite all the the shortcomings and criticisms, I am still at heart a fan of cartoons.

Here I've listed a few of my all time favourite old-school cartoons. The list is not comprehensive but these are the few that comes to mind at time of publishing. :P


Transformers




Autobots



Decepticons



Decepticons has always been cooler than the Autobots. The Autobots are mainly cars..whilst Decepticons are mainly aircrafts.. Unicron is awesome! so is Astro Train...and that Radio guy that I've forgotten the name.


Denver The Last Dinosaur



Simple cartoon, nothing spectacular except for the nice animation and sometimes the clap-happy songs.

I used to have the books..

Care Bears



The ultimate cutesy cartoon of the 80s and early 90s. Same category of My Little Pony.. Hmm.. I don't have the pictures for My Little Pony.

Dungeons and Dragons



The cartoon that started it all... I'm a much bigger fan of the cartoon than the game or movie. :P

Fat Albert



Heheh...another weird cartoon of yesterday. I have a video of this one.

G.I. Joe



Most boys' favourites, I suppose. :P Cobra-la-la-la-la..

He-Man



I have the Power!!!!!

Jem



A rather feminine choice, but it's still a cartoon that I very much watch and listen. I love the theme song..and Hologram!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles



Another one of my all-time favourite! :P Teenage mutant ninja turtles...heroes in a half-shell...

The Real Ghostbusters



With its catchy tune and lots of ghosts...who could resist? I am also a fan of the new Ghostbusters...the one with the frenchy style drawing... The Extreme Ghostbusters if i'm not mistaken.

Robotech



The original Mech-warrior..

Saber-rider and the Star Sheriffs



I even have the opening theme in my harddisk.

She-Ra Princess of Power



A chick that can fight with powers....need I say more? :)

Definitely on my top 5 list of all time favourite cartoons... I used to have Liono the figurine..i don't know where I kept it now. :(

The alarm clock rings!

Of course, I could only guess

I continued walking
My fingers' crossed
The floor was smoking
Damn! She's hot.

The truth finally revealed
Hope prevailed, life was sweet
Now everday I wake with zeal
No matter the rain, no matter the heat.

She walks on air

Well, she's my RC Girl.

How do you measure success?

To laugh often and much;

Alexander Pope again to the rescue as I feel so lazy to start my studying. Back to my coursework...

The past week has seen a flurry of activities and my ever increasing sleep-debt. No, not due to football.. :)

To sum it up, it has been a great week and an even better weekend. It was a blast! I really enjoyed those outings, makan n minum sessions, dinner, pwning and last but DEFINITELY not least, the company. Absolutely wonderful! I pray life would be smooth and easy for everyone and my have yet another gathering soon!!!

Also, thanks for all the wonderful time... If only time stood still, we could have a few more toasts and perhaps...more than that. I love you.. I'll miss you! Take care!!
