Merry Christmas! :)

Under the mistletoe
The ornamented and tinseled tree
And the presents down below
Amidst the air of fesitivity.

When friends and families gather
From places far and wide
To share stories and laughter
And sometimes the feelings locked inside.

Another full year has gone by
Everyone has grown
Oh, time really does fly!
Especially with those you call your own.

So, take stock of your experience
And cherish those close and near
That would make all the difference
Especially to those you dear.

As I look up into the sky
I reflect and ponder
And question why..
Isn't the world such a wonder?

On this day of nativity
There is something I would like to know,
Will you come to me?
Under the mistletoe..

Catch-up Postings

I am thankful that I can finally cross out getting a phone line for my apartment since dialing #100 last Wednesday. I am FINALLY given a line after being stuck on a waiting list for half a year. After countless hours on-the-air with pleasant-sounding operators but little technical power to change my fate, the Corporation (1,2,3) finally decided that I was too much of a pain in the a** but I am not complaining. In fact, I am writing this as my sign of gratitude after being able to soothe my worries and catch up on my sleep. Yea...when you're stuck in a place with no Internet connection and no books to read...the four corners look pretty much like Hospital Bahagia. Gaming has lost its flavour..even talking to myself has made my imaginary friend fled. THANK GOODNESS!!!

That said, my worries are not entirely over yet. Sigh... I'll have to make a date (which will mean more delays...knowing their system...) with the technicians to install the line in the apartment. THEN, I'll have to apply for my Streamyx (more delays yet again..) When will it ever end.. (Krobelus..hahaha)

Anyway, I'm just happy that the first of many hurdles has been crossed. I am very Internet-dependent. It used to be because I was gaming all the time now, it is for more "intellectual" purposes like reading articles and blogging? Oh no..is this a sign that I am too old??

Also, it isn't too late yet to get those Christmas shopping done! Chinese New Years' too! The Great Malaysian Mega Sale is about to end..so hurry up and grab those bargains. I managed to get some great bargain, but not after walking my feet off and many tiring hours. The reward is sweet, though the novelty usually ends after the first wash.

Filler post

Posted by Chloe on Friendster. I like! :)

Ever heard the story of the giant ship
engine that failed?

The ship's owners tried one expert
after another, but none of them
could figure but how to fix the
engine. Then they brought in an old
man who had been fixing ships since he
was a youngster. He carried a large
bag of tools with him, and when he
arrived, he immediately went to work.
He inspected the engine very
carefully, top to bottom. Two of the
ship's owners were there, watching
this man, hoping he would know what to
do. After looking things over, the old
man reached into his bag and pull out
a small hammer. He gently tapped
something. Instantly, the engine
lurched into life. He carefully put
his hammer away. The engine was fixed!
A week later, the owners received a
bill from the old man for ten thousand
dollars.

"What?!" the owners exclaimed. "He
hardly did anything!"
So they wrote the old man a note
saying, "Please send us an itemized
bill."

the man sent a bill that read:

Tapping wit hammer $ 2.00
Knowing where to tap $ 9998.00

Effort is important, but knowing where
to make an effort in your life
makes all the difference.

Updates!

Been busy the past few days. To cap it all..it was fun meeting up with old friends, share some tales. I really miss being young. Sigh...It's always the same. We never truly appreciate the things/time we have until it's too late. Also, started my attachment already. Was in the High Court yesterday. Saw a couple getting divorced. [not my attachment firm's case..someone else's] The husband was unrepresented and as they were battling it out, the question of custody arose. The court interpreter had to translate everything to Mandarin and everyone in the courtroom had an earful. Whilst they were discussing the custodial issue, the children were actually in the courtroom itself. A boy and a girl no older than 12. I feel so sorry for them. There they are, sitting down, while their parents were before a judge arguing about who is getting whom. Sad but true...

Was in Bemban, Jasin and Kesang today. So tired.

On a lighter note, I'm Padme. I wanna love Padme though. I should've aimed for Vader.

World AIDS Day

Today is World AIDS Day. Around forty million people are living with HIV throughout the world and the number escalates.

Sex education should never be denied for anyone. Everyone should know about sexual health regardless of their sexual orientation, religious beliefs, or profession. Contraceptives should also be readily accessible though it may conflict with certain religious doctrines. I am not advocating blasphemy but I believe in the sanctity of life. If it conflicts with beliefs, then either the believer or the official head of religion must do some reflection and introspection and sort it out for themselves.

Again, ignorance is not an excuse. Empower yourself. Know your rights too. :)
