First of May

When I was small, and christmas trees were tall,
We used to love while others used to play.
Dont ask me why, but time has passed us by,
Some one else moved in from far away.

Now we are tall, and christmas trees are small,
And you dont ask the time of day.
But you and i, our love will never die,
But guess we'll cry come first of May...

So sang the Bee Gees. How much we've all grown. Older, fatter, hopefully wiser? There is much to be thankful for despite the overall gloom that shadows us. Crippling economic situations, ecological disasters, A virus scare....right up to the day-to-day worries of bringing food back to the table. Raising your family. Yes, we have much to be thankful for. For the life that is still in us. For the ideals that we still hold dear. For the vast knowledge that surrounds us. There is so much to see, to learn, to experience, and basically to live for. Is the taking of a life, no matter how "humanly" justifiable, ever right? In particular, when that choice is not made by you, but by others.

Today, Delara Darabi was executed. May her soul rest in peace.
